Andrea Peterchef is the reluctant new nanny to troublemaking nine-year-old Piper, and even though her first day ends with tomato-soup puke, her outlook improves over a sexy conversation with Piper's guardian, Max. His voice evokes an image of her perfect man, but he's a workaholic. Andrea can see Piper craves the love and stability of a family, and she's determined to do what it takes to make that happen.
Maxwell Gildenthall is a stockbroker haunted by the 9/11 deaths of his girlfriend and his cousin--Piper's dad. Deadlines and data define his life--not baby dolls and Disney videos. When his plus-sized au pair badgers him into spending more time with Piper, he realizes he's been neglecting the child, and the chance to be near his pretty nanny is a bonus. Away from emotion-numbing work, he's racked by guilt and pain, which threatens the fragile relationship he has with Andrea. It will take more than a spoonful of sugar to make these problems go down smoothly.
"Not Just Make Believe is both a heart warming and funny story full of sass."

"Sookoo's writing makes you feel like you are listening to
a friend tell a great story. The writing is funny, witty
and all together a joy to read. Andrea is a character who
seems to have more of "those days" than any person should.
You can't help but cheer her on and laugh at her acerbic humor.
Max represents a man that could use a swift kick in the backside
to help him open his eyes. You really want him to see what is in
front of him and let go of his past. Once you pick this up you
will laugh, scream in frustration, and smile as you turn the pages
of this feel good read.

"Sandra Sookoo's prose flows easily from page to page and I
just love her writing style! Her characters always have such
personality and the feel good emotion she brings forth is
inviting. When I wasn't chuckling, I was wiping away tears.
This is such a sweet read. It is just perfect for curling up
in your favorite spot with a cup of cocoa."

Just who is this mystery man, and what will she do about the man she never thought she'd have romantic feelings for? The trouble with love is that she doesn't know. She'll have to let her heart decide.
"Sookoo's storyline was interesting and believable. Her strong
connections between friends created a poignant study of loyalty
and commitment to each other. The underlying sensuality was
understated yet effective. The more I read, the deeper I was
captivated. The book was a good read without being explosive.
I recommend this book to anyone, even young adults. You will
be glad to have read it. I look forward to more by this author."

Darren Kaestle wants nothing more out of life than to do his job. Putting out fires and keeping the community safe is his idea of a good time. Throw in a few beers with his best friend Tyler, and life's good-until he finds an unconscious woman at the scene of an abandoned house fire. He carries her to safety, and after having her check out at the hospital, takes her home. Only then does he find out about her paranormal status.
Hadyn Bernson has lived in a run of bad luck all her life-ever since her family perished in a fire when she was twelve. Since then, she's harbored anger and fear deep inside herself until it manifests in a rare phenomena. She can burst into flames whenever her emotions get out of control, and they threaten to do just that when she opens her eyes and finds a sexy firefighter staring back.
Together, these two people from opposite ends of the spectrum must find a way to settle their differences and quench the flames inside before the real terror of a dangerous blaze ends one, or both, of their lives.
"I liked Darren and Hadyn. These two phenomenal characters will tug at
your hart-strings. The supernatural element also gave this story just
that little extra reason to continue reading. I enjoyed every moment of
Sandra Sookoo's 'Safe From The Flames'."

"Just like her prior books, Safe from the Flames did not disappoint.
Both Darren and Hadyn were engaging characters. They interacted well
with each other. It was a good thing that Darren is a fire fighter
and skilled at putting out flames as there was plenty of heat with
Darren and Hadyn. Looking forward to what comes next from Ms. Sookoo.

When unassuming mail room worker Kate Little agrees to become an underwear tester for a marketing company, things get uncomfortable fast. Not only has she never worn "fancy" underpants before, she has to work closely with handsome marketing manager Bryan Eddleman and that's enough to keep her in a constant state of confusion.
Trouble is Bryan's competing with another manager for a promotion that hinges on the results of the test group. Kate can't determine if his sudden interest is really in her or her surprisingly insightful weekly reports on foundation garments.
Add a jealous co-worker out to sabotage Kate's budding love life, an overly helpful gay friend with nothing better to do than shove her into Bryan's arms, and a rambunctious teacup dog to the chaos and you’ll have a typical day in Kate's less than ordinary life.
The last thing she needs is panty lines.
"Ms. Sookoo writes about life being amusing because truly,
if you look for it, funny and odd stuff abounds. I was
entertained and the story and characters kept my interest...
I do recommend this book for all contemporary romance readers
who like humor and quirky characters. This book satisfies."

After removing himself from family gatherings and his mother's domineering influence for years, Eli Goodman finds himself once again drawn into the chaos that is his home life. One afternoon, on a spur of the moment decision, he decides to bring the pretty cashier from the local MegaMart to his mother's house for their annual eight day Hanukkah celebration. At the very least, it will shock and temporarily quiet his mother's pestering. But Brooke is more than she seems and he will soon find himself thinking of the hard-working orphan in ways he never imagined.
Brooke has recently decided she'd like to shove Christmas and its materialism into her cash drawer. Yearning for something more from life, she takes a chance and accepts an invitation to dinner from a customer in her register line. What she finds with his interfering and warm family could very well be the missing element she's searched for, not to mention Eli is the sexiest guy she's seen in a long time. If the light of the Hanukkah candles bring them together, she could be the first person in modern history to see what Judah Macabee wears under his tunic.

Tala Henderson grew up with her Native American roots playing a role in her day-to-day life. But when she caved to familial pressure and gave up the one man she could love, the pain she felt told her she could no longer afford to let anything—even her deep investment in her culture—determine her destiny.
Craig Wordell was all but destroyed when Tala ended their relationship before it could begin. A small town boy who made good, he never forgot the one who got away nor has he forgiven her for choosing her family's ideals over him. Wanting one more chance, he looks her up and tracks her to the church on the day of her sham wedding.
As soon as they see each other, the simmering passion they've felt for fifteen years boils over and they give into their baser instincts, where souls collide and mesh. When a simple misunderstanding threatens to undo the tentative trust and bury the love they've discovered, it will take acceptance and love on both parts for them to realize that sometimes life happens suddenly and maybe fate just waited for them to find the right path.
